The Dixie Pro Modified Association set for
Orangeburg Drag Strip this weekend
(05-24-2011)
ORANGEBURG, SC – The Dixie Pro Mod’s
will travel to the Orangeburg Drag Strip this
weekend this Saturday. This event will mark
the first time that DPMA has ran an
association race at Orangeburg Drag Strip.
The DPMA prides themselves on good side
by side racing and giving drag racing fans
a great show. This is just one of the reasons
that they have been a successful association
for more than 25 years now that races in
Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and
South Carolina. The Association allows
turbos, nitrous and naturally aspirated
Door Slammers with any transmission
combination. The level of competition
within the DPMA has always been very
strong. In fact, the DPMA has produced
three ADRL battle of the belt Pro Nitrous
Champions, Dan Parker, Keith Baker and
Jamie Hancock."We all are very excited about
racing at Orangeburg this weekend," said
Club President Kevin Stalcup. "Orangeburg
is known for being a great race track. We all
know that track staff led by Buddy Boozer
will have the track prepped and ready for us.
Everyone within the association is looking
forward to this weekend’s race."Fans can expect
to see DPMA regulars like Ellis Miller with his
daughter Lynn Miller- Baxley, Ronnie "Boo" Baxley,
Mark Sisk, Jimmy Sandefur, James and Jamie Hancock, Jason "Spike" Thomas driving for James Duncan,
Keith Baker, Chris Patrick, Tori Cagle, Kenny Kneece
and many others to be announced later this week.
Also, there will be several new members like
Sonny Tindal, Greg Godwin and others that have
joined the DPMA. There are some rumors about
a few Turbo Charged Door Slammers also making
the trip. Who will win the Inaugural Dixie Pro Mod
event at Orangeburg? You will have to be there
to find out.The track will be open Friday night for
test and tune from 4:00 to 11:00. On Saturday
the track opens at 11:00 with racing starting at 12:00.
The first round of DPMA qualifying will be at 2:00.
The second round will be at 3:30 with the first round
of eliminations at 5:00. General admission is $15.00 4with children 12 and under free. If by chance the race gets
